DOROTHY T. ROCKEFELLER

D. Jean Thiesing Rockefeller, died June 28, 1996, at the age of 63.

Jean was a native of Indianapolis, Ind., and a graduate of St. John's Academy in Indianapolis. She was the daughter of the late Byron Vincent and Dorothy Elizabeth Thiesing. Jean lived in Virginia Beach for many years and was a former secretary at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Norfolk, and cosmetology instructor for Hair Styling School of Tidewater. She was the creator of the ``Rock-a-Bear'' Teddy Bears, and a member of the National Bear Artists Association.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Rockefeller; and children Dottie Jo Grass of Norfolk, Cathy and Carl Studel of West Virginia, Christina and Richard Martin of Oklahoma, Tim and Brenda Barton of South Carolina, Ted and Pam Patrick Barton of Virginia Beach, Tony and Pauline Barton of North Carolina, Patty and Steven Sutton of Highland Springs, Va.; and her extended family of children, Jay Whalen of Chesapeake, Deborah and Bob Williams of Tennessee, Dale and Beverly Robertson of Virginia Beach, Robert and Bedele Rockefeller of Georgia, Russell and Carol Rockefeller of Maryland, Kathleen and Christopher Rockefeller of Virginia Beach, Roxann Wilson of Chesapeake and Vickie and Jim Larry of Virginia Beach. Jean is also survived by 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She leaves brothers, Jerry Thiesing of Manassas, Va., Jack Thiesing, and Michael Thiesing of Indianapolis, Jeff Thiesing of Orlando, Fla.; and sisters Joyce Thiesing, Joanne Doyle and Jackie Felter of Indianapolis.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday July 1, 1996, at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel, by Father John Dorgan. There will be a wake service Sunday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Hope Haven Home for Children, P.O.
