Earl Wilson Jones, 73, died Thursday, June 20, 1996, in his home.
Mr. Jones served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and worked as a welder for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard later retiring from Norfolk Shipbuilding and Drydock Co. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, in Zanesville, Ohio.
He is survived by two brothers, Alva E. Jones of Indian Head, Md., and Donald W. Jones of Zanesville; two sisters, Gladys W. Jones of Zanesville and Alice J. Hein of Tallahassee, Fla.; six nieces, Priscilla Adkins and Paula Hashemy of Virginia Beach, Diane Morgan of Port Tabacco, Md., Kathy Coombs of Indian Head, Marilyn Jones of Zanesville, and Betty Weisman of Tallahassee; three nephews, Bernie Jones of Cambridge, Ohio, Fred Hein of Valdosta, Ga., and Charles Hein of Granite Falls, N.C.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. at Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel, Virginia Beach. The services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with burial following in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.
