Gregory Edward Johnson, 39, of the 1000 block of Erie St., died June 27, 1996, in a local hospital.
He was born in Nice, France. He was the son of the late John Edward Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Mathews Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Brink Johnson, and two daughters, Melissa Dawn Johnson and Julia Ann Johnson of the home; his mother, Virginia M. Johnson of Indiana; two sisters, Elaina Johnson of Indiana and Margarita Jedwabnik of Silver Spring, Fla.; a brother, Douglas Patrick Johnson of Albany, Ga.
A memorial service will be conducted in St. Mathews Catholic Church today at 3 p.m. with Father Timothy Drake officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Diane Neal, 1004 Priscilla Lane, Chesapeake. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Melissa and Julia Johnson Memorial Fund, c/o Patricia Johnson, 1029 Erie St., Chesapeake, Va. 23320. Twiford Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
