Old Dominion University has named longtime professor Robert L. Ash its associate vice president for research, economic development and graduate studies.
Ash came to Old Dominion in 1967. He is professor and eminent scholar of aerospace engineering. At ODU, he has been chairman of the mechanical engineering department and interim dean of engineering.
For the past year, he has been interim associate vice president for research. During that time, Provost Jo Ann Gora said in a letter to faculty, Ash has worked on initiatives to expand research and to increase training programs and recognition for graduate teaching assistants. by CNB
