COAST GUARD TO THE RESCUE

The quick actions of a U.S. Coast Guard boat Saturday helped save a

48-foot fishing boat that was taking on water. The boat, the Honey

Bun, with 10 people aboard, stayed afloat until it reached Wanchese,

thanks to two pumps delivered by the Coast Guard. Here, a Coast

Guard lifeboat follows the Honey Bun toward the Oregon Inlet.

FISHING BOAT FLIPS

After their 14-foot fishing boat flipped over the waves in Oregon

Inlet and grounded on a sand bar, above, Lisa Tyler, left, Neal

Armstrong and Judy Shook tried to turn the boat back over.

At left, Shook, left, and Tyler, both of Spotsylvania, Va., were

happy to be back on dry land.
