HOWARD A. WHITE

Howard Allen White, 71, of the 200 block of Greens Cross Road, died Sunday, June 30, 1996, in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Durham, N.C.

He was a native of Bertie County and a retiree of the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of World War II; a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a former member of the U.S. National Guard. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Asbell White; daughters, Kimberly W. Daniels of Colerain, N.C., and Judith W. Thum of Arkansas; sons, William White of Williamston, N.C., and Edward White of Nags Head, N.C.; sisters, Inez W. Dunlow of Suffolk, Mary Ann W. Mizelle and Camillia W. Griffin, both of Chesapeake; brothers, V. ``Tom'' White of Roper, N.C., and Aubrey ``Bud'' White of Windsor, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Edgewood Cemetery by the Rev. Tommy Tripp. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to the National Arthritis Foundation.
