ETHEL BRANCH ARTHURS

Ethel Branch Arthurs, 82, of 1713 Bellevue Ave., died June 30, 1996, in Richmond Memorial Hospital.

A native of Nansemond County, she was the widow of Dominick Arthurs and the daughter of the late John L. and Julia L. Branch. Mrs. Arthurs was a member of St. Mary's of the Presentation Catholic Church and the St. Mary's Women's Club in Suffolk. She was a lifelong resident of Suffolk until 1991, when she moved to the Imperial Plaza in Richmond.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Sylvia and Michael Strum of Mechanicsville, Brenda and Ivia Jennette of Henrico Co.; two sisters, Virginia Hargrave of Wakefield and Margaret Matthews of Virginia Beach; two brothers, Willard Branch of Suffolk and John Branch of Newport News; four grandchildren, Cheryl Wedel, Kelly Lewis, Julie and Jesse Jennette; a great-grandson, Joshua Wedel; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Cedar Hill Cemetery by Father Christian Haydinger. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 8 p.m. in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home in Suffolk. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary's Capital Improvement Fund, 202 South Broad St., Suffolk, Va. 23434.
