Bessie Anderson Douglas, 94, of the 8500 block of Chesapeake Blvd., died June 30, 1996, in Norfolk.
Mrs. Douglas was born in Wilmington, N.C., and was the widow of Emmett P. Douglas. She was a retired bookkeeper for Stringfellow Electric Co. of Newport News. She was a member of Ocean View Assembly of God.
Survivors include a niece, Nina Colbert of Norfolk; two great-nephews and a great-niece. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifton R. Anderson Jr. and her parents, Clifton and Ann Douglas.
A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Jack Miller in Hunting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Bedford County, Va. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge. Friends may pay respects at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the Ocean View Assembly of God Church.
