THURMAN THOMAS COOK

Mr. Thurman Thomas Cook, 92, died Friday, June 7, 1996, at his home in Painters Wood, Draper, Va. His beloved wife of 69 years, Carrie and granddaughter, Jennifer were at his side.

He was the son of Margaret Lyton Cook and John B. Cook of Cleveland, Va. During his lifetime, Mr. Cook was employed by N & W Railroad and worked in Norfolk. He was later employed at Radford Arsenal. He was a charter member at Memorial Baptist Church in Pulaski, Va.

He was married to and survived by Carrie Campbell Cook. They celebrated their 69th anniversary on June 4. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by a brother, James Cook of Johnson City, Tenn.; and two sisters, Betty Smith of Cleveland, Va., and Margaret Bryant of Baltimore, Md. He is survived by two daughters, Bertie C. Talbert of Chesapeake, and Linda C. Hansen of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Joseph C. Cook of Orville, Calif. and John E. Cook of Salem, Va.; two brothers, William Cook of Cleveland, Va., and Lester Cook of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and special friends Florence and Fred Thompson, and Uncle Henry.

Interment was at Highland Memorial Gardens, Dublin, Va. His love, kindness, great sense of humor, and wisdom will be greatly missed by all! ILLUSTRATION: Photo
