Gordon Raymond Johnson, 76, died Monday, July 1, 1996, at his son's home in Windsor.
A native of Utica, N.Y., Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Clarence and Gertrude Betts Johnson. He lived in New Hartford, N.Y., from 1920 until 1992 when he moved to Windsor to live with his son James. Mr. Johnson retired in 1982 after 37 years of service as an employee at New York Telephone. He was a member of the Telephone Company Pioneers. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Pyatak Johnson; three sons, James Russell Johnson of Windsor, John Raymond Johnson of San Francisco and Jerrold Robin Johnson of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Betty J. Gray of Clinton, N.Y., and Ruth J. Duboise of Whitesboro, N.Y.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel on Friday at 11 a.m. by Father Carl DeSouza.
