Let me get this straight: In the Hampton Roads area, we eat so much that we need (1) Farm Fresh (all of its stores and its subsidiary, Rack and Sack), (2) Super Fresh (all of its stores and its subsidiary, Farmer Jack, (3) Food Lion (Has it opened its 1,000th store here yet?), (4) Hannaford Food and, now, (5) Harris Teeter, to be joined by at sometime in the very near future (6) Winn Dixie. Need we mention the commissaries on the local military bases? And isn't BeLo still around?
Wouldn't it be just perfect if we could get the same kind of attention from employers coming to this area that paid better than minimum wage? Who knows? We could actually have decent salaries to go along with all of this eating!
