Tong Chan Yi, 81, died July 1, 1996, in a local care home. Mr. Yi was a native of Korea, a self-employed businessman, and a member of The Korean Baptist Church of Virginia Beach for the past several years.
He is survived by his wife, Soon Yi of Virginia Beach; six daughters, Sun Seo of California, Young Lim of California, Jung Ahn of Oregon, Suk Jin of Nebraska, Kyong Lee of South Korea, and In Yoo of Richmond; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The services will be held today at 11 a.m. in Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall Chapel, Virginia Beach and will be conducted by Senior Rev. Ji Dho. Following the services interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Norfolk.
