Evelyn Christine Barnes, 73, of the 6400 block of Coinbrook Ave., died July 2, 1996, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Barnes was born in Wayne County, N.C.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer Lee Barnes; a daughter, Joan Burk of Norfolk; three sons, Ray Barnes and his wife Brenda of Norfolk, Arnold Barnes and his wife Karen of Newport News and Michael Barnes of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Myrtle Raynor of Pikeville, N.C., Evangeline ``Pete'' Bedford of Goldsboro, N.C., and Gladys Hinnant of Goldsboro, N.C.; a half-brother, Donnie Pittman of Williamston, N.C.; a grandson, Curtis Barnes of Norfolk. She was predeceased by a brother, Claude Pittman Jr.
The funeral will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. by Pastor Dave Hills in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
