OLAR W. POWELL

Olar Wright Powell, 74, of the 2500 block of Leo Street, died June 30, 1996, in her residence.

Mrs. Powell was a dietitian for Breezy Point Officers Club N.A.S. Norfolk. A native of Nansemond County, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Millie Jones Wright. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Edward L. Powell of the home; two stepchildren; sister, Alma W. Butts of Portsmouth; two brothers, Otis T. Wright and McGuire C. Wright, both of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Ashwell E. Wright and Charles J. Wright Sr., her twin.

A funeral will be Friday in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. The family will receive friends at the Riddick Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. The remains will be placed in the church at noon on Friday. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
