Carroll Kirwan Rockefeller Sr., 76, of the 3700 block of Little Neck Point, died July 1, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Rockefeller was born in Mathews County, Va., and was a member of Kings Grant Baptist Church. He was retired president of Miller's Dairy and a lifetime member of Lions International Ruth Masonic Lodge (NU)89 AF & AM.
He was a loving husband and friend of 54 years to his wife, Ruth F. Rockefeller. He was a great father to his two daughters, Patricia and her husband William Archer of Virginia Beach and Carolyn and her husband Ronald Dodson of Virginia Beach, and his son, Dr. Kirwan Rockefeller Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Davis of North, Va., and Mrs. Dianne Gray of Richmond; three brothers, J.D.C. Rockefeller of Norfolk, J.V. White of Atlanta, Ga., and Carey White of Richmond. He was a one of a kind grandfather to five grandchildren, 2nd Lt. Bradley Archer and his wife, Margaret, of Charleston, S.C., Jennifer Spiess and her husband, Andrew, of Virginia Beach, Kimberly Dodson of Charlottesville, Va., Leigh Dodson of Virginia Beach and Patrick Archer of Virginia Beach.
A funeral will be conducted Friday at noon by the Rev. W. Jerry Holcomb in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
