A 12-foot-tall bronze statue of tennis great Arthur Ashe is placed

Wednesday on Richmond's Monument Avenue. The statue's placement

follows months of controversy over where to put the monument to

Ashe. The figure, to be officially unveiled July 10, is on a street

dedicated to Confederate icons including Robert E. Lee, Stonewall

Jackson and Jefferson Davis. by CNB
