ELOISE S. LINEBERRY

Eloise Shirley Lineberry, 85, of the 6000 block of Knotts Creek Lane, died July 4, 1996, in Maryview Medical Center.

She was a native of Winnsboro, S.C., and was a member of West End United Methodist Church, Portsmouth, The Dean Cornelius Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women's Society.

Mrs. Lineberry was preceded in death by her husband, William Clyde Lineberry and a daughter, Jean Lineberry Nelms. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Lineberry Baird and her husband, Frederick Baird, of Suffolk; five grandchildren, William S. McCarter and his wife, Karen, of Machipongo, Va., Lynn M. Riggs and her husband, Michael, and Lori Jean Leeman and her husband, Paul, of Suffolk, Robert W. Nelms of Dove Canyon, Calif., and Jeffrey L. Nelms and his wife, Annette, of Portsmouth; five great-granddaughters, Katlin McCarter, Jessica Riggs, Amanda Nelms, Ashlynn Nelms, Andrea Nelms, and a sister, Edna S. Stewart of Winnsboro, S.C.

A funeral service will be conducted at West End United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. Elisha Jones and Dr. Donald Traylor. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the West End United Church Building Fund.
