Joseph Herbert Shell, 96, died July 4, 1996.
He is survived by his daughter, Jane Weathers Shell, who is employed by the Virginia Beach City Public School System; and a son, Joseph H. Shell Jr. of White Plains.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the Williams Funeral Home, Lawrenceville. Interment will be in Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery, Triplet. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Philadelphia United Methodist Church or Central Volunteer Rescue Squad, Gasburg, Va.
