James Armistead Hayth Sr., 66, of the 8000 block of Lion Ave., died July 3, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Hayth, the son of the late William Peck Hayth and Julia Mcrae Hayth, was a retired distributor for Pepperidge Farms Products.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia R. Hayth; a daughter, Carolyn Layton of Troy, Texas; two sons, James A. Hayth Jr. of Virginia Beach and Michael W. Hayth Sr. of Norfolk; a brother, John M. Hayth of Portsmouth; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William D. Hayth.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday by Elder John Whitman in Rosewood Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
