RYLAND V. WATKINS

Ryland V. Watkins, 52, died July 4, 1996, in his residence.

Mr. Watkins retired as a communications engineer from The Voice of America. He was a Protestant, a native of Norfolk, a member of the National Rifle Association and an Army veteran.

He is survived by a stepdaughter, Dona Weatherholtz of North Carolina; two stepsons, Robert Wayne Anderson and Shawn Anderson, both of Spotsylvania; his parents, Marjorie and Robert Watkins of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Ann W. Price of Woodbridge, Va., and Dorothy Totah of San Mateo, Calif.; a brother, Robert W. Watkins of Hackensack, N.J.; and two step-granddaughters.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dr. Robin E. Wooddell in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m.
