Percy Jane Perdew Elks, 81, died Saturday July 6, 1996, in Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Elks, a native of Lenoir County, had lived in the Bell Arthur Community all her life. She was a member of the Bell Arthur Christian Church and also was a member of the Senior Sisters of Bell Arthur.
Survivors include three daughters, Bessie Elks Briley of Norfolk, Lou Elks Moore of Farmville, N.C., Alice Marie Elks of Kinston, N.C.; six sons, John F. Elks of New Bern, N.C., L.T. Elks of Greenville, N.C., Roy Lee ``Root'' Elks Jr. of Bell Arthur, Jimmie R. Elks, William E. Elks and Ray Elks, all of Greenville; three sisters, Bela Park of Newport News, Mary Annie Anderson and Lela McCluney, both of Milledgeville, Ga.; two brothers, Duffy Perdew of Fayetteville, N.C., Tom F. Perdew of Farmville; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery in Farmville. A visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
