Sallie Duck Lane, 81, of the 500 block of Little Fork Road, a homemaker, died July 6, 1996.
Mrs. Lane, the widow of Oscar George Lane, was a native of Gates County, N.C. She was a member of Great Fork Baptist Church, Ruth Bible class, and Keenagers Senior Group. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Lee Lane; and her parents, William L. Duck and Hattie M. Duck.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Belle Russell and Brenda B. Lane, both of Suffolk, Marie L. Mathias of Corapeake, N.C., Debra L. Long of Anchorage, Alaska; three sons, William O. Lane of Waverly, Va., James D. Lane of Suffolk, England, Herbert B. Lane of Suffolk; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geneva Piland and Margaret Spivey, both of Suffolk; a brother, William Duck of Gatesville, N.C.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday by the Revs. Steve Siegrist and Thomas Edwards in Great Fork Baptist Church. A visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. in Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O.
