BEACH MAN CHARGED IN SHOOTING THAT KILLED 2, WOUNDED 1 POLICE HAD OFTEN BEEN CALLED TO THE RESIDENCE WHERE THE INCIDENT HAPPENED.

Two men were killed and another critically wounded in an early morning shooting Saturday.

Willie Montrel Wiggins, 21, of the 1400 block of Old Oak Arch and Derek Wiggins, 17, of the 3500 block of Terrazzo Trail were found by police in the parking lot of a residence in the 1400 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. They were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Another man, Gregory Wiggins, 26, of the 1400 block of Old Oak Arch, was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was taken to Virginia Beach General Hospital for emergency surgery. He was listed in critical condition Saturday.

Gregory Wiggins is Willie Wiggins' brother. Derek Wiggins was their cousin, police said.

In connection with the shooting, police have arrested 42-year-old Clyde L. Caffee, of the 400 block of Rudder Road in Virginia Beach. Caffee, who is being held without bond in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, malicious assault and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

A second suspect was taken into custody for questioning, but police released him. He was not charged.

The shooting, which occurred during a party, stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Caffee and the three victims, police said.

Police were called about a dispute at the residence at 1:54 a.m. When officers responded, they were told shots had been fired. Police found the three victims lying in a parking area near the residence.

Evidence technicians found at least eight shell casings in the parking lot area.

Police got the names of possible suspects from witnesses at the scene. A short time later, Caffee and the second man were taken into custody by police in the 1700 block of Rudee Ave.

Police records show that in the past year, police have received at least four calls regarding assault, destruction of property, domestic assault and narcotics violations at the Virginia Beach Boulevard residence. Saturday's incident marked the 16th time police have been called to the residence in recent years. ILLUSTRATION: [Box]
