Marshall Louis Wood, 49, husband of Joann (Johnson) Wood of Route 6, Box 486B, and formerly of Norfolk, died Saturday, July 6, 1996 in Augusta Medical Center.
Mr. Wood was born in Baltimore, Md., on Feb. 2, 1947, son of Taylor and Norine (Moyers) Wood of Staunton. He was employed for 21 years as a deputy for the Augusta County Sheriff's Department and prior to that he was employed by the Naval Air Rework Facility in Norfolk.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Elizabeth and Richard D. Whitmore of Weyers Cave, Judi and Thomas Mooneyham of Staunton; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles ``Pete'' and Pat Martin of Staunton; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Darrell Dixon and a niece, Andrea of Chesapeake; and three grandchildren, Douglas, Dustin and Tyler Whitmore.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hebron Presbyterian Church by the Rev. C. Thomas Lane and Dr. Robert Goshorn. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening in Henry Funeral Home and at other times at the residence. It is suggested that those desiring may make memorial donations to the Staunton-Augusta Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 2566, Staunton, Va. 24401 or to the Hebron Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, Route 1, Box 58, Staunton, Va. 24401.
