I am grateful for the excellent editorial ``Rx for a better city'' (June 29). Congratulations are in order to whoever wrote it.
Editorials such as this one are just what this area's citizens need. It explains the problem (crime) and proposes step-by-step solutions for combatting it.
I hope that you will have someone at the newspaper fax a copy of the editorial to every city official in every city throughout Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina and, also, to every school.
More editorials presenting the problem (whatever it may be) and step-by-step solutions involving public participation in cleaning up our cities will be most appreciated.
