Charles Helman Forrey, born in Lancaster, Pa., on Feb. 13, 1923, died at his home in Hartfield on July 8, 1996.
Mr. Forrey formerly lived in Virginia Beach for 26 years. He graduated from McCaskey High School in Lancaster, Pa., and entered the U.S. Navy in 1942. He retired as a Chief Gunners Mate in 1966, after which he held a civil service position with the Navy until 1978. He was a member of Apostles Lutheran Church in Gloucester, Va.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; a brother, Daniel of Lancaster, Pa.; and a sister, Margaret F. Siegler of Lancaster.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Apostles Lutheran Church. His body will be donated to medical science. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Apostles Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 1010, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
