Alexander Harper Jr., 63, of the 200 block of Doyle Way, died July 5, 1996, at his residence.
Mr. Harper was born in Princess Anne County. He was the son of the late Alexander and Lillie Mae Cooper Harper Sr. He was a retired heavy equipment operator; a member of First Lynnhaven Baptist Church; and a former member of Odd Fellows Lodge.
He is survived by two daughters, Sylvia H. Hatcher of Virginia Beach, Senthia H. Jewett of Columbus, Ohio; five sons, Nelson L. Harper of Atlanta, Ga., Byron K. Harper of Norfolk, Davey Harper and Ronald Harper, both of Virginia Beach and Mark Harper of Richmond; two sisters, Marjorie H. Holley of Virginia Beach and Clarissa H. Stone of Detroit, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted in Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, Thursday at 1 p.m.
