Daniel Lee ``Dan'' or ``Jackie'' Johnson Sr., 62, of the 3000 block of Montana Ave., died July 6, 1996, in his residence.
Mr. Johnson was born in Norfolk. He was a former member of Rose of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, Chesapeake. He was also a member of the Allstars Athletic Club and Brown Bombers Football Team. He was predeceased by his parents, Lucy Johnson Harris and Herbert Almond.
Survivors include his wife, Lomena Johnson; a daughter, Erma Lee Bullock of Norfolk; three sons, James E. Mingo, Bobbie Johnson and Daniel L. Johnson Jr., all of Norfolk; a brother, Romeo Branch of Norfolk; grandmother, Julia Almond of Germantown, Pa.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brotherly cousin, George ``Butch'' Corum of Norfolk; a sisterlike aunt, Josephine Corum of Norfolk; and special aunts, Rayolyn Vaughan, Jean Royster and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11:30 a.m. by the Rev. Willie Samuels and the Rev. Thomas Hart, pastor, in St. Mark United Church of Christ, Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Metropolitan Funeral Service, Norfolk, is in charge. Family and friends will assemble at 524 Stuart Circle, Norfolk, on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. for the funeral procession to the church.
