Levie McCoy Dilday, 85, died July 8, 1996, in Guardian Care Nursing Home.
He was a native of Hertford County, a member of Center Grove Baptist Church, a graduate of Mars Hill College, and a Paul Harris Fellow.
The widower of Thelma Morris Dilday, he is survived by his daughter, Allie Jane Dilday of Virginia Beach; sisters, Nellie D. Childers of Virginia Beach, Allie D. Fowler of New Bern, Nancy D. Dupree of Angier, and brother, Horace C. Dilday of Ahoskie.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Garrett Funeral Home, Ahoskie, by the Rev. Jack Byrd and the Rev. Clarence Godwin. Burial will be in Ahoskie Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and also at 10 a.m. Thursday prior to services.
