Margaret Frances Watkins, 87, died Saturday, July 6, 1996.
Mrs. Watkins was a native of Richmond. She had been a Hampton resident most of her life.
She was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Hampton, and was a former member of First Baptist Church Lambert's Point in Norfolk for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Northampton Senior Citizens Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Ulysses G. Watkins, a daughter, Emma Jane Watkins, and a son, Ernest H. Watkins.
Survivors include four daughters, Margaret W. Francis, Clara D. Watkins, and Juanita L. Watkins, all of Hampton, and Joyce L. Redding of Norfolk; and a son, Thomas A. Watkins; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; two nieces; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today by the Rev. Chauncey Mann in Zion Baptist Church, Hampton. Burial will be in Hampton Memorial Gardens. Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Mrs. Watkins will be placed in the church by 9 a.m. today. The procession will leave from 114 E. Cummings Ave. at 10 a.m. today.
