Breaking and entering, 7800 Crittenden Road, June 29, someone entered a residence by breaking a screen door latch. The interior was ransacked, and about $3,000 worth of items were removed, including a Smith & Wesson model 36, double-barrel shotgun with 32-inch full choke barrels; a Mosseberg .12-gauge pump shotgun with 26-inch barrel equipped with a polychoke; a Remington model 1100, .12-gauge semi-automatic; a J.C. Higgins .22-caliber semi-automatic; a Pentax Auto; a Sears 35 mm camera; a pair of Sears binoculars and a Sony portable AM/FM stereo cassette player.

Breaking and entering, 300 block Brook Ave., June 27, a woman saw a man enter her residence. He removed a stereo, a gray telephone and a Caller ID box. The man fled through the front door and was seen running west on Brook Avenue.
Larceny, 1400 block North Main St., June 27, a store reports that two men paid for items with checks written on closed accounts.
Breaking and entering, 400 block Jackson St., June 30, a woman reports that someone entered her home through a window. A pair of curtains and a curtain rod were removed. The person also made a telephone call.
Breaking and entering, 200 block Linden Ave., July 2, someone entered a residence and removed items including two violins, a guitar, a go-cart, assorted silver coins and other items totaling about $3,100.
Breaking and entering, 900 block Brooke Ave., July 2, someone entered a residence through the back door and removed an RCA stereo system.
Breaking and entering, 200 block Linden Ave., July 7, someone entered a residence through a rear window. The activity was discovered by a neighbor, who was watching the property while the owner was on vacation. Nothing was reported missing.
DISTRICT D
Breaking and entering, 1000 block Cogic Square, June 27, someone discovered that an acquaintance had forced entry into a home. The burglar pushed the occupant to the floor and escaped. When the complainant returned home, the burglar also had returned. The complainant ran but was followed and assaulted.
Motor vehicle theft, 100 block Halifax St., June 27, a woman reports that a man called her godmother informing her that he was an officer of the Suffolk Police Department and that her vehicle had been involved in a hit and run accident. A few minutes later, a man came to the house and removed the car.
Petty larceny, 600 block County St., June 27, someone removed a gas-powered weed eater from the front porch of a residence.
Breaking and entering, 400 block Carolina Road, June 29, someone entered a back window of a business and removed about $1,000 in cash from a desk.
Lost/stolen, 200 block Hunter St., July 1, someone removed the rear 30-day license plate from a vehicle.
Grand larceny, 1300 block White Marsh Road, June 30, someone removed a plastic back window and entered a '93 Geo Tracker. Items removed included a Sony AM/FM cassette player, Kenwood speakers, and an 18-inch gray plastic box equalizer.
Larceny, 600 block Kinsey Lane, July 2, someone removed a small boy's five-speed bicycle from a back yard. The bike is blue and has a broken rear brake.
DISTRICT E
Grand larceny, 9100 block Southwestern Blvd., July 1, someone removed an Emerson air conditioner from the window of a vacant residence.
DISTRICT F
Petty larceny, 1100 block Carolina Road, June 24, a bank notified a business that cash bag was $50 short. ILLUSTRATION: [Box]

Detective D.J. George asks help to find the person responsible
for the theft of city property.
On June 22, someone entered the school bus lot and removed
automotive parts from three buses. The alternators were removed from
each. These buses are Ford vehicles, and the stolen items can only
be used in other Ford products.
