MAYBELL C. HAYNES

Maybell C. Haynes of the 1500 block of Milldam Road died July 8, 1996.

Born in Princess Anne County, she was the widow of Leon E. Haynes Sr. She was a member of First Lynnhaven Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, where she was a choir member, Sunday school teacher and involved in other activities.

She is survived by two daughters, Viola Madison of Virginia Beach and Celestine Ackiss of Norfolk; a son, Leon E. Haynes Jr. of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Maria Sumner and Annie Brinkley of Virginia Beach and Eugenia Joyner of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. E. Ray Cox Sr. in First Lynnhaven Baptist Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Garden, Norfolk. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk, is in charge. The remains will be in the church at 9:45 a.m. Saturday.
