JoAnne Helton, 47, of the 1700 block of Keeling Road, died July 9, 1996, in her home.
Mrs. Helton, a native of Norfolk, was an auditor for the Naval Transportation Office of Civil Service. She was a member of the first graduating class of Bayside High School, The Class of `67.
Survivors include her husband, James R. Helton; two daughters, Janice Kromer and Julie Acuff, both of Chesapeake; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd N. Swanner of Virginia Beach; a sister, Gail Rousseau of Virginia Beach; a brother, John Swanner of Portsmouth; her grandmother, Callie Anderson of Chesapeake; and a granddaughter, Callie Kromer of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Don Wilson in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach A.S.P.C.A.
