RICHARD D. ATTARD

Richard D. Attard, 65, of the 100 block of West Gilpin Ave., died July 9, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Attard, a native of Detroit, Mich., retired from the U.S. Navy as a senior master chief. He was a member of American Legion Fleet Reserve Association and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife, Louise R. Attard; three daughters, Debbie Drake of Texas, Tammy Williams of Chesapeake and Cynthia Felix of Norfolk; a son, John Attard of Norfolk; a sister, Carmela Downy of Michigan; 21 grandchildren; three stepsons, John Pitt Jr. of Norfolk and Carl Pitt and Wayne Pitt, both of Norfolk; two stepdaughters, Rebecca Jarvis of Norfolk and Denise Peterson of Connecticut.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
