Roberta B. Chappelear, 70, of the 900 block of Fernridge Road, died July 10, 1996. She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a postal supervisor, and was Methodist by faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Townley and Pearl Bridge.
She is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Carder and her husband, Bill of Suffolk, and Jami Carroll and her husband, Marvin of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Arthritis Foundation. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
