Tidewater Leisure Ministries is one of four or five ministries
working the Oceanfront this summer. Members of the group, mostly
college students and teenagers, appear at the conch shell sculpture
on the Boardwalk at 26th Street every weekday at 10:30 a.m. and
Mondays and Wednesdays at 1 p.m. They twist balloons into fancy
shapes and hand them out to kids, sometimes with a blessing. They do
free face painting, tell some Bible stories and such to interested
tourists and locals. Above, Carol Baker helps set up the
face-paining station. by CNB
