SCHOOLS CLOSED

Summer programs of the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank School district, along with Elizabeth City State University, will be closed today because of anticipated weather conditions associated with Hurricane Bertha.

Staff and students should not report for School Year Plus, the tuition summer school at Northeastern or the SummerCare Enrichment program.

Any 11- or 12-month employee who is scheduled to work should report or take annual leave.

Faculty and students at ECSU should not report to classes today. Office personnel should call before reporting to work.

Dormitories were scheduled to close at 7 p.m. Thursday, and students or employees who must remain on campus will be housed in an emergency shelter set up at the R.L. Vaughan Center.
