The Chesapeake City Council is looking for citizen volunteers to fill openings on five of the city's boards and commissions.
Applications are being accepted for the following:
Three openings on the Chesapeake Commission on Substance Abuse.
One opening on the Chesapeake Community Criminal Justice Board. Applicants should be experienced in criminal defense.
One opening on the Chesapeake Youth Committee, which helps organize education and recreation opportunities for the city's youth.
One opening on the Chesapeake Transportation Safety Commission. Persons with experience in medical services are encouraged to apply.
Two openings on the Chesapeake Utility Review Board.
There are more than 64 committees, commissions and boards in Chesapeake that advise City Council.
