Joseph D. Reid Sr., 62, of the 2800 block of Arcadia Ave., died July 10, 1996, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mr. Reid was born in Portsmouth and was a retired mechanic for Norfolk Naval Shipyard Exchange, Portsmouth.
Survivors include a daughter, Chanta B. Moore of Portsmouth; two sons, Kevin D. Reid of Washington, D.C., and Joseph D. Reid Jr. of Portsmouth; a sister, Martha R. Garrett of Portsmouth; five brothers, Ralph J. Reid, Leon E. Reid, Matthew Reid and Ernest E. Reid, all of Portsmouth and Walter L. Reid of Statesville, N.C.; three grandchildren; an aunt, Rebecca Reid of Suffolk; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
The funeral will be conducted Monday at noon by the Rev. Ronnie T. Northam Sr. in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon today. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. today and also at 1915 Laigh Road, Portsmouth and will assemble there for the funeral service.
