MARY JANE W. DARDEN

Mary Jane Warner Darden, 79, of the 16400 block of Bob White Road, died Saturday, July 13, 1996, in Hillhaven Convalescent Center, Suffolk.

Mrs. Darden was a native of Port Clinton, Ohio, and a homemaker. She was a member of Uzzell's United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her husband, John R. Darden Jr.; two daughters, Joanne D. Jones of Smithfield and Jacqueline D. Horsley of Suffolk; two sons, John R. Darden III of Smithfield and Ronald D. Darden of Smithfield; two sisters, Kathryn W. Brightman and Jeanette Warner, both of Bradenton, Fla.; a brother, Donald Eugene Warner of Suffolk; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in Uzzell's United Methodist Church Cemetery, Smithfield, with the Rev. John Robert Jones officiating. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, and suggests memorial contributions be made to Uzzell's United Methodist Church, c/o Vivian Darden, 144 Sykes Court, Smithfield, Va. 23430.
