A Chesapeake couple were charged with violation of a court order and grand theft auto after police say they abducted their 2-year-old daughter Thursday in her grandmother's car.
Police charged Laura Maness, 25, and Hiram ``Butch'' Maness, 32, with taking Savannah Marie Maness away from her maternal grandmother. The girl has been in the custody of Martha Burke of the 2400 block of Lakewood Lane in Chesapeake for the past three months, although Laura and Butch Maness continued to live in the same house.
The Manesses left around 7 p.m. Thursday in Burke's 1986 gray, two-door Chevrolet Monte Carlo.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts should call the Chesapeake Crime Line at 487-1234.
