One man was killed and another injured in a late-night shooting Friday in the Grandy Park neighborhood.
Maurice Thompson, 26, of the 3800 block of Big Bear Court in Virginia Beach was killed at about 11:15 p.m. on the 600 block of Wiley Drive near the Eastern Branch of the Elizabeth River. David Downing, 34, of the 400 block of Westfield Court in Chesapeake was injured.
Police were called to an Amoco station at 3025 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. about a mile from the scene.
There are no suspects and no known motive for the shooting.
