Fred Douglas Coston, of the 800 block of E. Olney Road, died July 11, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mr. Coston, a native of Edenton, N.C., was a steamfitter with the I.L.A.
Survivors include two daughters, Pearl Ames of Norfolk and Arlene Gregory of Virginia Beach; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Lillian Dykes of Norfolk; a sister, Louise Coston of Norfolk; a brother, David Coston of Edenton; three uncles; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna Coston and James Coston.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. James Anderson in New Hope United Church of Christ, 145 E. Liberty St., Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 909 Tidewater Drive, Norfolk, Wednesday at noon for the funeral procession to the church. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Wednesday morning.
