Irvin Floyd Whitehurst Jr., 68, of the 1700 block of Whiteside Lane, died July 14, 1996, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Whitehurst, a native of Princess Anne County, retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility. He was a former member of Bethel United Methodist Church and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (NU)9954 in Victoria, Va., and Creeds Ruritan Club.
Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Whitehurst; two daughters, Elaine Curtis and Lisa Tucker; two sons, Colin Whitehurst and Geary Whitehurst, both of Virginia Beach; and nine grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Joe French in Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, today from 4 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Creeds Ruritan Building Fund, P.O. Box 7015, Back Bay Station, 23457.
