Edsel Earl Dotson, 68, of P.O. Box 38, died July 14, 1996, in his home.
A native of Letcher County, Ky., Mr. Dotson attended Oak Grove Christian Church and St. Marks Episcopal. He retired from the U.S. Army after 24 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Greene Dotson; two daughters, Carol Jean Franklin of Bealeton, Va., Sandra Blodgett of Alexandria, Va.; a son, Kenneth Darrell Dotson of Crystal Lake, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Joan C. Lynch of Cambridge, Mass.; a stepson, Craig Lynch of Eldorado, Kan.; a sister, Mary Elliott of Wise, Va.; a brother, Veldon Dotson of Wise; seven grandchildren; and a step-grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Oak Grove Christian Church, Corapeake, by the Rev. Sallye Hardy and the Rev. Dr. Dick Gottier. Burial will be in the church cemetery with full military honors. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L.B. Jordan, Route 1, Corapeake, N.C., today. Harrell Funeral Home, Gatesville, is in charge of arrangements.
