Maurice Lewis ``Junie'' Thompson Jr., 26, of the 3800 block of Big Bear Court, died July 12, 1996, in Norfolk.
Mr. Thompson, a native of Portsmouth, was a fireplace installer with Ayers Installation Co.
Survivors include his mother, Costella Beck of Virginia Beach; his father, Maurice L. Thompson Sr. of San Rafael, Calif.; two sisters, Angela Thompson-Jennings of Virginia Beach and Trina Beck of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Pierre Ramone Dokes and Donald Beck, both of Virginia Beach; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Rocky Flood of Norfolk; two stepfathers, Leroy Beck of Virginia Beach, Jerry Dokes of Norfolk; stepmother, Marjorie Thompson of San Rafael; nine aunts, Willie Bea Williams and Yvonne, both of Chicago, Ill., Bennie Allen of Dallas, Wanda Thompson of San Francisco, Barbara McCullough of Mansfield, Ohio, Linda Thompson of Alton, Ill., Joyce Bell and Lorraine Flood, both of Norfolk, Rashida Ahmad of Washington, D.C.; three uncles, Andrew Thompson of Painesville, Ohio, James L. Flood of Norfolk, Abdul Talib of Baltimore, Md. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Andrew Thompson Sr. and Erma Thompson.
The funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday by the Rev. Frank Gunn in Hale Funeral Home Chapel, Norfolk. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Garden. Viewing will be Wednesday from noon to 8 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at 3800 Big Bear Court, Virginia Beach, at 11 a.m. for the funeral procession. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
