Carlos Dale Roberts Sr., 70, of the 1100 block of Lindale Ave., died July 14, 1996, in his residence.
Born in Dott, W.Va., he was a member of Lindale Christian Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was company commander in Great Lakes, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie M. Roberts; two daughters, Selina Mae Montiero of Virginia Beach, Cindy Louise Baker of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Carlos Dale Roberts Jr. of Chesapeake; mother, Effie Isle Shutt of Rock, W.Va.; four sisters, Betty Shrewsbury of Lashmeet, W.Va., Effie Mae Roberts of Rock, W.Va., Lillian Louise Speace of Newark, Del., Debbie Fuller of Delaware; a brother, Freddy Roberts of Hartley, Del.; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. David B. Vaughan in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
