DISTRICT A

Breaking and entering, 2800 block Windjammer Road, July 5, someone entered a residence through an unlocked door and removed a couch and coffee table from a bedroom over the garage.

Grand larceny, 6800 block Edgefield Court, July 8, someone saw a man remove five window frames, valued at $64 each, from a house under construction. He made the man return them.

Petty larceny, 6300 block Townpoint Road, July 9, someone entered a vehicle and removed a Suffolk city decal.

Grand larceny, 6200 block Calvert Court, July 10, someone entered a vehicle, causing about $250 in damage to the roof. A black radio/cassette player with detachable front face and assorted country music CD's were taken.

DISTRICT B

Armed robbery, 200 block Carolina Road, July 8, a woman was approached by a man who produced a gun and demanded her wallet. The woman handed over money, food stamps and her driver's license. The thief fled on a bicycle.

DISTRICT C

Breaking and entering, 100 block Causey Ave., July 5, someone attempted to enter a house by forcing open a kitchen window.

Grand theft, 300 block Linden Ave., July 8, someone attempted to take a vehicle by tampering with the steering column. A Motorola cellular phone was removed.

Grand larceny, 300 block Linden Ave., July 8, someone removed a medium blue, 4-door, '87 Oldsmobile from a driveway.

Breaking and entering, 1200 block North Main St., July 8, someone discovered a bay door broken out at work. Fifty-one boxes of hams and eight boxes of jowls had been removed.

Motor vehicle theft, 200 block St. James Ave., July 8, someone broke out the window of a vehicle and broke the steering column.

Petty larceny, 400 block Market St., July 8, someone removed a gray, Ultra Terrain Multi-Speed mountain bicycle from between a double set of entry doors at the Social Security Building.

Lost/stolen, 1200 North Main St., July 9, a GTE cellular flip phone was reported missing from a vehicle.

Breaking and entering, 700 block North Main St., July 9, someone entered a gate by breaking the lock. They removed about 75 used, 13-inch tires valued at $20 each.

Larceny, 600 block Second Ave., July 9, someone entered a vehicle and removed a silver Glock .380 with a black handle.

Petty larceny, Market and Main streets, July 10, someone removed a gray GTE Mobilnet phone from a vehicle.

Petty larceny, 100 block Wellons St., July 10, someone entered a vehicle and removed a Suffolk city decal.

Motor vehicle theft, 1400 block North Main St., July 10, someone removed a tan, 86 Pontiac 6000.

DISTRICT D

Breaking and entering, 1200 block Portsmouth Blvd., July 5, someone entered a business between July 3 and 5 by prying open a panel of sheet metal and removed two lawn tractors.

Lost/stolen, 400 block East Washington St., July 5, someone misplaced a

Armed robbery, 30 block Stacy Drive, July 5, while attempting to deliver an order, a pizza delivery driver was approached by a man with a towel over his face. The driver refused his demand for money, and the robber fled.

Breaking and entering, 100 block Halifax St., July 5, someone removed a Homelite SX-135 string trimmer from a residence.

Breaking and entering, 800 block Haskins Drive, July 7, someone entered a residence by breaking out the glass in a side door. About $100 was removed.

Breaking and entering, 100 block Halifax St., July 8, someone reports that three men forced entry into his home and assaulted and battered him using their hands and fists.

Strong-arm robbery, 100 block Pinner St., July 8, someone ran past a man and pushed him. Another man came up and removed his wallet, which contained money.

DISTRICT E

Breaking and entering, 6300 block Holland Road, July 8, someone entered a residence and removed several pieces of jewelry from the bedroom.

DISTRICT F

Breaking and entering, 8700 block Whaleyville Blvd., July 8, someone kicked in the front door of a business. The office was ransacked and a window broken out. ILLUSTRATION: CRIME LINE

Suffolk police ask your help to finding the persons responsible

for thefts from a local tire business.

On July 8, someone entered the storage area of Performance Tire

Co. in the 700 block of North Main St. After cutting a gate lock,

they removed about 75 tires of various brands.

Losses are considerable, since this is the second time this has

happened at the store. The tires are used but in condition to be

resold.

If you have any information concerning the tires or anyone who

may be supplying a large quantity of used tires, call Suffolk Crime

Line at 539-1222.

Information leading to an arrest may bring a cash reward. Callers
