Charles L. Sholes, 70, of the 1200 block of Land of Promise Road, died July 17, 1996, in his residence.
Mr. Sholes, a native of Norfolk County, was retired from C&P Telephone after 38 years of service as a communication specialist. He was presently employed by World-Com. He was a member of C&P Telephone Pioneers of America, and Chesapeake 4-H Livestock Club. Mr. Sholes was a U.S. Naval veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Betty A. Sholes; two daughters, Tammie Brickhouse and Krista Weatherly, both of Chesapeake; a brother, Frank J. Sholes of Sherando, Va.; two grandchildren, Trey Brickhouse and Vicky Ayers; mother-in-law, Martha V. Norris of Chesapeake; and a nephew, Michael J. Sholes of Chesapeake.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the residence. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is in charge.
