Robert J. Marquis, 60, of the 1800 block of Parkview Ave., died July 17, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Mr. Marquis, a native of Barre, Vt., retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 20 years of service. He was also retired from the Navy Exchange. He was a 20-year-member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post (NU)3160.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie M. Marquis; a daughter, Cheryl Denice Farve of Jacksonville, N.C.; a sister, Wilma Roy of Barre; a brother, Eugene Marquis of Barre; and a granddaughter.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon Monday by Father Robert Banken in Quantico National Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday with a Veterans of Foreign Wars service at 7:30 p.m.
